Ingredients:
- 2 Cups of Flour (Sifted)
- ¼ Tsp Baking Powder
- ½ Tsp Dry Yeast
- ½ Tsp Turmeric
- 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 4 Gloves of Garlic
- 5 Leaves of Shadon Beni
- 4 Strands of Chive
- ½ Hot Pepper
- 1 Cup of Luke Warm Water (More can be added to obtain the texture similar to the picture below)
- Oil for frying
LET’S GET COOKING!
- Mix all dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt, sugar,yeast, saffron), then add seasonings (shadon beni, garlic, pepper)
- Add luke warm water (this will help activate the yeast faster together with the brown sugar). Continuously mix until the mixture feels light and a bit sticky.
- Cover with a cloth and let rise for about 1 hour. Very important!
- Heat oil to 350F
- You can use your hands or spoons to put mixture into the pot to fry.
6. Fry until golden brown and serve with mango or tamarind sauce.
